Jeremy’s primary areas of practice are construction, civil litigation and strata claims.
His experience includes:
- Representing strata corporations in large, multi-party construction defect claims
- Enforcing 2-5-10 new home warranty claims for building envelope, structural, mechanical and electrical defects
- Acting for employers and employees on an array of employment issues including wrongful dismissal claims, employment agreements and human rights legislation
- Assisting strata corporations and owners to resolve condominium disputes
- Advising strata clients on bylaw enforcement, governance issues and collections matters
- Representing individuals and companies in commercial and shareholder disputes
- Guiding current and former owners of contaminated sites through cost recovery actions
- Prosecuting and defending human rights complaints
Jeremy has represented clients at trial in both the Supreme Court and Provincial Court of British Columbia. He has also appeared before the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal and Human Rights Tribunal. In addition, he is experienced in conducting summary trials, petitions, mediations, discoveries and settlement conferences. Jeremy works closely with his clients and understands that to best serve his clients they need to have up to date information, timely analysis and sound strategic advice presented in a cost effective manner. Supreme Court decisions have noted that “Mr. Rusinek ably represented his clients’ interests.”
